Short version: SnapCopy collects nothing.
The app has no internet permission, contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and never transmits your photos or documents anywhere. Everything happens on your device.
None. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal information. Specifically, SnapCopy does not collect:
SnapCopy is built so that transmitting data is technically impossible rather than merely prohibited by policy:
android.permission.INTERNET permission. Without it, Android blocks the app from opening any network connection at the operating system level. You can verify the permission list yourself on the Google Play store listing, under “App permissions → See more”.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
CAMERA |
To photograph the document you want to print. Requested only at the moment you open the camera. Captured images are written to the app's private storage on your device and are never uploaded. |
VIBRATE |
A short haptic tap to confirm a page was captured during continuous shooting. |
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGEWRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(Android 9 and older only) |
To save the generated PDF to your Downloads folder on older Android versions. On Android 10 and newer these permissions are not requested at all, because saving uses the system file picker instead. |
If you decline the camera permission, the app remains usable: you can still import images from your photo library or receive them from other apps.
You can bring images into SnapCopy from your photo library, or by sharing them from another app. When you do, the image is copied into SnapCopy's private storage on your device so it can be processed. It is not uploaded anywhere. You can delete it at any time from within the app.
Original photos, processed pages and generated PDFs are stored in the app's private directory on your device, which other apps cannot read. You control them entirely:
The app also opts out of Android's automatic cloud backup (allowBackup="false" plus explicit data-extraction rules), so your scanned pages are not copied into your Google account backup or transferred during device-to-device migration.
When you print, SnapCopy hands the generated PDF to the Android system print framework. From that point the print job is handled by Android and by whichever print service your printer manufacturer provides — SnapCopy is not involved in, and has no visibility into, that transfer. Please refer to your printer manufacturer's privacy policy for how they handle print jobs.
SnapCopy is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because it collects no data of any kind, it collects no data from children either.
If a future version of the app changes what data it handles, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Since the app currently has no network access, any such change would be substantial and clearly disclosed in the release notes.
